A new pre-engineered metal building will provide 4 maintenance bays (as in the existing facility), maintenance facilities that will allow the district to continue providing full in-house maintenance processes and procedures, storage bays for 42 busses, and office and driver’s parking spaces. The exterior of the facility will have modest metal walls and standing seam metal roof, with insulation in both. The interior will allow busses to be washed and stored inside the heated, dry space. Once completed, the district will be able to continue the full in-house maintenance and storage of the entire bus fleet when busses are not in use, thereby extending their service life and reducing the overall operating costs to the school district. |
Summary:
The District is considering the relocation and expansion of the bus maintenance storage facility. The current facility, located on the high school site, is overcrowded and is unable to protect the entire bus fleet from the elements during the winter and spring months.
